The following pictures were taken by my friend Erhan Altunay during his visit to Egypt in 1996. He managed to bribe his way into a prohibited zone

I would like to submit you further details concerning Giza Tunnels.

As known by anyone visited Egypt, it is possible sometimes to visit forbidden areas when you give some dollars to guides. Those guys are ready to supply you any kind of information (even Zahi Havass' private life) and to bring you anywhere you want. (pay attention when you are alone!)

During one of my visits to Egypt (in 1996 I think) I was guided by a local guide (although I hate to be disturbed by the guides around) and he said he would show something special if I gave him $20. We went to a special area near to the Pyramids but at the bottom of the plateau where the Pyramids are situated.

We entered through a hole by paying $5 to the guard there (you may see the pic in www.hermetics.org) and I was extremely surprised to see a lot of
gates openening to endless tunnels. I saw also many statues as you may see on the pictures. (It is strictly forbidden to take pictures but you may take some if you pay to the guard, as I did)

It seems to me that thse tunnels are very old but also used in later times as I saw some sacrophages which seem to be from very late periods.

I've been in Egypt several times but this was the first and the last time I saw those tunnels, as it was forbidden to go there.

I do not know if we are talking of the same tunnel system or not but I'm sure that those tunnels must have some explanation. But as you know , it is impossible to understand what's going on in Mr. Zawi Hawass mind. (If you remember his extraordinary discovery in March 2000, the Osiris's tomb. In fact it was a part of the initiation hall. But he only discovered (!) one

I'm ready to supply you further information , if you want

First of all , I have not claimed any conspiracy theory concerning those tunnels. (as my friend Regulus) . I do not understand why you are discussing as we said some extraordinary conspiracy theories.

We have only informed you about a fact that there is a tunnel system there. Although I'm not an egyptolog I know what is a mastaba. In those pictures also the tombs can be clearly seen. But the fact is those tunnels do exist and the morphology of the area ,geologically, allows the construction of such tunnels.

On the other hand, this area has always been closed and forbidden ; I can say this because I've been in Egypt several times.

So this area may be a necropolis but those tunnels may date earlier. You may have some information about this area. But our claim is only the existance of those systems as many others in the area.

I should thank also to everybody trying to give some information to explain the matter.

"My book, The Land of Osiris, documents my research and investigations of the tunnels, not only at Giza, but at other sites such as Sakkara and Abusir. I believe there are at least 25 miles of tunnels that connect many sites and most were for the delivery of water to the sites. Yes, I have been in some of these tunnels under the Giza Plateau and they are definitely NOT tombs that were cut in the Old Kingdom for anyone but extend for miles and show water erosion patterns."

"The responses posted are perfect examples of people who have superficial understanding of the whole situation. The 4th Dynasty necropolis that was created at Giza utilized the already existing tunnels and cavities to create the so-called "rock-cut tombs" for officials, nobles etc. None of the posters nor the Egyptologists they so adhere to can explain how the dynastic people of 2500 BC could have carved these tunnels (or tombs) with the tool kits they present to us; namely, copper chisels and stone pounders. The tunnels show clear examples of advanced engineering. Please refer to my good friend and colleague Christopher Dunn's book, The Giza Power Plant, for a complete discussion of the engineering and machining impossibility of the dynastic people creating the tunnels.

"As for the tunnels at Sakkara being known for hundreds of years, so what? They never have been adequately explained as to how they were made and by whom! I was personally shown a tunnel at Sakkara that may lead to Giza, some 8 miles away! Now what "tomb" needs to be 8 miles long? And in all the tunnels I have been in there were no hieroglyphs, no niches cut for burials, no sarcophagi, and most were not wide enough for any possible funeral procession but showed clear evidence of water erosion. It has been known for years that the Supreme Council of Antiquities and Zahi Hawass have had to pump thousands of gallons of water out of the tunnels under the Giza Plateau before they could enter to investigate them. That was their main purpose, to bring water to the site!

"Yes, there are stories of underground tunnels all over the world. I would refer you to the works of my publisher, David Hatcher Childress, who has written about and personally investigated the tunnels under Peru.

"As for those who want to play numbers games--I was shown these tunnels by a man who has spent 60 years investigating them, not 5 days!!

Great Pyramid of Giza Research Associatio The world's largest research association and number one web site for information on the Pyramid of Giza.

The Giza Enigma The outcome is from the public’s point of view most unsatisfactory. If there was a new find made, why not tell the world? It is generally acknowledged that the Pyramids and Sphinx, although situated in Egypt, are the property of the world, not the possessions of the Egyptian Government alone.

Underground Radar Discoveries By Paul White - Since the declassification of the new ground-penetrating radar 2 years ago, the most staggering data has emerged of complex and labyrinthine underground systems in various parts of the world. At places like Guatemala in the South Americas, tunnels have been mapped under the Mayan pyramid complex at Tikal, which extend a full 800 kilometres to the opposite side of the country. Investigators remarked, it was possible to understand how half a million Mayan Indians escaped the decimation of their culture

In similar fashion, the SIRA radar was deployed in Egypt as early as 1978, mapping an extraordinary subterranean complex beneath the Egyptian pyramids. Arrangements made with President Sadat of Egypt, resulted in three decades of top secret excavations to penetrate the system. At a recent meeting in Australia, one of the key scientists on the Giza project, Dr. Jim Hurtak, showed film footage of work in progress called, CHAMBERS OF THE DEEP, due to be released at the end of the century.

The Secrets of Thoth By Paul White -  Arrangements made with President Sadat of Egypt, resulted in three decades of top secret excavations to penetrate the system. At a recent meeting in Australia, one of the key scientists on the Giza project, Dr. Jim Hurtak, showed film footage of work in progress called, Chambers of the Deep, due to be released at the end of the century. The film reveals the discovery of a vast megalithic metropolis 15,000 years old, reaching several levels below the Giza plateau. While the rest of the New Age speculate about a hidden chamber under the left paw of the Sphinx, the legendary "City Of The Gods" lays sprawled beneath complete with hydraulic underground waterways.

The film shows massive chambers the size of our largest cathedrals, with enormous statues the size of the Valley of the Nile carved in-situ. Researchers risking their lives with lights and cameras, carefully negotiated rubber dinghies across subterranean rivers and kilometer-wide lakes, to penetrate sealed chambers beyond.

Already, remarkable caches of records and artifacts have been found. It is the legacy of a civilisation and a technology beyond our own. A technology capable of creating a vast underground city, of which the sphinx and pyramids are merely the surface markers.

The Shaft, The Subway & The Causeway The Shaft, The Subway and The Causeway is a rare example in which the suggestions of a past Imperator of a modern day mystery school are actually backed up in print with references to hard archaeological research by an eminent egyptologist. If the references could be authenticated, might this not add weight to the stories of passages and chambers under the Giza plateau? For another angle, take a look at page 2 which describes how a documentary film maker called Boris Said came to find himself at the bottom of the shaft, what he uncovered there and how Dr Zahi Hawass became involved. Two newspaper reports of the discovery dating from 1935 can be found on page 3 along with an eyewitness description from October 1998. page 4 deals with the underground layout at Giza as documented by H. C. Randall-Stevens and how his diagrams bear an uncanny resemblance to ancient manuscripts allegedly held by the mystery school. An account of how the FOX television programme 'Opening The Lost Tombs' dealt with the location can be found on page 5. An analysis of the appendix to the book "The Symbolic Prophecy of the Great Pyramid" and news of the ongoing hunt for information can be found on page 6. Accounts of lectures and broadcasts by Doctor Hawass and others can be found on page 7.

Geophysical Methods in Egyptology

A Chamber Beneath the Sphinx The conclusion of the Japanese work suggests that the sanctuary of the Sphinx contains more cavities below the Sphinx than were previously known. The combined data collected by the recent research at Giza resulted in the indications that there is/are:

1. Hollows located under the Sphinx as yet, not identified.
2. Cavities running from north to south underneath the Sphinx.
3. A tunnel south of the pyramid of Khufu ...

Stephen Mehler In 1992, Stephen met Egyptian-born Egyptologist and Indigenous Wisdom Keeper, Abd’El Hakim Awyan.  It is Hakim’s teachings about the ancient Khemitian civilization, well over 10,000 years old, that now forms the framework for Stephen’s current research.

Modern Riddle of the Ancient Sphinx Graham Hancock (Morgana's Observatory) In a series of expeditions between 1991 and 1993 led by John Anthony West, an independent Egyptologist, scientific investigators conducted geological and seismic surveys around the Great Sphinx of Egypt. The chief geologist was Dr. Robert Schoch, Professor of Geology at Boston University, and the chief seismologist was Thomas Dobecki, from the highly respected Houston consulting firm, McBride-Ratclif & Associates.

II.The team's conclusions were as follows:
A. Geology, The pattern of erosion on the Sphinx indicates that it was carved at the end of the last Ice Age, when heavy rains fell on the eastern Sahara -- perhaps more than 12,000 years ago. This contrasts starkly with the "orthodox" Egyptological dating for the Sphinx of around 4,500 years ago.

B. Seismography. The seismic survey indicated the existence of several unexplored tunnels and cavities in the bedrock beneath the Sphinx, including a large rectangular chamber at a depth of some 25 feet beneath the monuments front paws.

The Official Graham Hancock Website Introduction On land it is obvious that archaeology still has much more work to do before it can honestly claim to have fully understood (rather than merely theorised about) the process by which the great civilisations of ancient history arose. Vast areas of the earth's surface - the Sahara Desert, for example (which was green for 4000 years at the end of the Ice Age) - have hardly benefited from the attentions of archaeologists at all. And even in countries like Egypt which have been intensively excavated for more than a century new discoveries can still be made that call established views and chronologies into question.

GIZA Gateway to the Inner Earth My contacts in Egypt, especially many of the good simple people who live in the Village of Nazlet El Sammon ( the village next to Giza) have told me that many underground passage ways exist deep under the Giza Plateau and it has been known by the Egyptian Authorities for many years. Now you must understand that these people have lived her all of their lives and so has their fathers and fathers fathers.

Giza OnLine - Stone Technology - Advanced Machining in Ancient Egypt There is much to be learned from our distant ancestors, but before that lesson will come to us, we need to open our minds and accept that there have existed on the earth, civilizations with technology that, while different from our own, and in some areas possibly not as advanced, had developed some manufacturing techniques that are as great or even greater.

World Mysteries - Mystic Places - The Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt Author William R. Fix concluded: "The many fundamental differences between the major Giza monuments and the rest of Egypt’s pyramids indicates that they do not fit into the contended chronology for dynastic Egypt. But if they do not belong to dynastic Egypt, there is only one direction in which they can be moved-not forward, but back into the past."

The Chinese Pyramids - An Extraterrestrial Legacy History Channel Hartwig Hausdorf and the mystery of the ChinesePyramids - When they asked the custodian of a local monastery about them, they were told that, according to records housed in the monastery, the pyramids were said to be "very old". Since the records were themselves over 5,000 years old, one can only guess at the age of the pyramids themselves. The traders were told that the pyramids belonged to an age when the "old emperors" reigned in China, and that the emperors always stressed the fact that they did not originate on Earth. Rather they were the descendants of the "sons of heaven, who roared down to this planet on their fiery metallic dragons".
